Progress is saved on your iPhone or iPad as you move between steps. If you force-quit in the middle of a step, reopen the app and walk back into the workshop — your cup should pick up from the last finished step. Deleting the app also deletes your cups, because nothing is kept anywhere else.
The app opens the standard iOS photo picker and only sees the one picture you tap. If the picker is empty, check that the photo is downloaded to the device (not only in iCloud) and try again.
Saving needs permission to add images to Photos. Go to iOS Settings → Zuvrena → Photos and choose "Add Photos Only", then save the card again from your shelf.
